Letterpress Final

For the final in lettterpress we could choose between 2 projects, trading cards or a book about conversations.  After spending spring break with the neighbors chickens I decided on making informational trading cards on chickens.  I chose 16 chickens

The cover of the case.  I letterpressed a chicken printers block that I found in an antique store way before I even thought I would be taking a letterpress class.

I found all the images of the chickens and made a unexposed polymer plate, which I ordered through Boxcar Press, and then used the plate maker at the school to expose the images. Then printed them black on cream cardstock.

On the back of each card I letterpressed some basic information (in black) that I could find on each chicken so the cards can be uniformed.  I used 10pt Canslon for the information and if I remember correctly 18pt Canslon for the type of chicken.
I do have some typos or mistakes with wrong letters or upside down letters.  I wish that I wasn't finishing so close to the deadline and I could of taken more time on them, but I also accept it because that tends to be how I make art....messy and not perfect, and I like it more that way....for most things.

End of Semester Evaluations

Had my evaluation today to officially end my sophomore year at Montserrat.  My panel consisted of Tim Harney, Rhoda Rosenberg, Matt Murphy, and Meredith Morten.  It went very well!  I'll soon be adding photos of all my final projects.  But, here is a photo of the wall that shows my college and photo work.
